First Rain of the Monsoon

Category: Nature

First rain of the monsoon,
It doesn't come soon.
When we wait under the scorching sun,
To rescue us from the doom.
Then it comers silently and unexpectedly,
With clouds thundering and mellifluous chirpings.

The tiny droplets caressing the ornate firs,
And small parakeets hiding with their mates in the trees.
The stream starts rippling,
And the heat starts crippling.

But when it ceases to rain ,
What we are left alone is,
The bucolic scent and of course,
Thanks for the recourse from sweat.
